Shapes Woodcut

This project began as a vector piece, and then expanded into a woodcut. However, this type of woodcut is called a ghost print because of the faded print that is done on top of the first ink print. It is important that there is not much ink left on the roller because it would lack the ghosted look.

In order for this print to be successful, the block must be placed in the correct spot or else the ghosted image would not line up with the rest of the print. I carved out the areas that appear white, and then did not carve out the areas that appear purple.
